Description: Vine trunk (Vitis vinifera), dark brown in color with light colored “waters”. It stands on a marble base and bears a small head-pebble of the De Chirico type. It exudes danceability and joy.

Vitis collection

Vitis Collection

The “Vitis” collection consists exclusively of vine trunks. It bears great emotional weight for Xarilaos, as a vine trunk was the starting point of his artistic journey.

Dominant features of this collection are the color contradictions between the dark surfaces of the exterior wood and the light-colored lines.

These are the projects with the longest processing process due to the heterogeneity of the surface. Their final form was chosen after careful carving of dents and the application of various wood processing techniques (sanding, immersion in an oil tank and varnishing with special varnishes).
The figures usually look like animals or/and science fiction creatures that are often mysterious and scary.
